For centuries, farmers from nearby villages took their home-made cheese to Gouda to sell them. It’s a game of clapping hands to strike a bargain that comes alive every Thursday morning between April and September. The cheese brakes, the cheese boys and girls and, of course, the cheeses themselves are a feast to the eye (and your camera)! You’ll taste even more of the past at the traditional market next door, where the stalls with regional products are a real treat!
